Alliance Bank Visa Virtual Credit Card Unveiled With Dynamic Card Number
April 5, 2023 Andrew Cheng

Alliance Bank just introduced what it says to be Malaysia’s first in-app virtual credit card. What makes the Alliance Bank Visa Virtual Credit Card particularly interesting is its dynamic card number system, which randomly generates a 16-digit card number for online transactions whenever necessary.

Of course, the main advantage of the dynamic card number system is security, as the credit card itself doesn’t have a “static” 16-digit number to make payments. Whenever you want to make a transaction with the Visa Virtual Credit Card, you can opt to generate a card number for either a one-time payment or a recurring one, such as for subscription services.

For card numbers that are generated for recurring payments, you can label each of them depending on their purposes. You can even set the maximum charge per transaction, the number of times it can be used, and the expiry date of the card.

As for the Visa Virtual Credit Card itself, it is based on Alliance Bank’s existing Visa Platinum card, though this particular card does not have any annual fees – except for the RM25 service tax charged by the government, of course. According to Alliance Bank, more of its current credit cards will be added to the virtual credit card initiative in the future.

To celebrate the launch of the virtual credit card, Alliance Bank is also offering a 0% flexi payment plan with a RM500 minimum spend (on a 12-month tenure) until 31 December 2023.

If you’re keen to get the Alliance Bank Visa Virtual Credit Card with the new dynamic card number system, you can send in your application online through the Allianceonline Mobile app. It can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, as well as the Huawei AppGallery.
