Confirmed: Honor Magic 5 Also Coming to Malaysia 6 April
April 4, 2023 Andrew Cheng

The Honor Magic 5 series – alongside the Honor Magic Vs foldable phone – is set to be launched in Malaysia on 6 April this Thursday. We know that includes the Magic 5 Pro – we reviewed the phone, after all – and it’s now confirmed that the standard Magic 5 is also coming to our shores.

In our routine search through SIRIM’s database, we spotted the regular Magic 5; it was registered with the certification body just today on 4 April under Honor Malaysia. The Magic 5 Pro has also been certified by SIRIM last month on 22 March.

Compared to its Pro sibling, the standard Honor Magic 5 has slightly different hardware. While it’s still powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, it has a more modest triple camera system made up of a 54MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 32MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom or 50x digital zoom.

Rounding out the hardware of the Magic 5 are a 6.73-inch 2688 x 1224 LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, a 12MP selfie camera, an IP68 rating, and a 5,100mAh battery with 66W fast charging.

The Honor Magic 5 series and the Honor Magic Vs will make their debuts in Malaysia later this week on 6 April. We’ll find out then just how much these phones will go for on our shores.
