WWDC23 Set for 6 June – New Software & (Maybe) VR Hardware Expected
March 30, 2023 Andrew Cheng

Apple just revealed the date for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) for 2023. Set to start from 6 June (Malaysian time) to 9 June, the event will likely showcase new Apple software. It’s possible we’ll see the introduction of a brand new Apple product too: VR hardware.

At least, that’s what rumours are suggesting, given that Apple has been said to be working on a VR headset for quite some time now. While we don’t typically see new hardware at WWDC, the Cupertino company did introduce new products at the event on a few occasions over the years, such as the M2-powered MacBook Air just last year.

Going back to the possible launch of an Apple VR headset, the teaser image for WWDC23 is quite intriguing as well. It may be a reference to the rainbow arches at Apple Park – where an in-person event is set to take place at on the first day of WWDC – though it could also be a glimpse of, well, a VR hardware of sorts, though we’re probably looking too much into it.

Nonetheless, what we can absolutely expect at WWDC23 are a preview of Apple’s upcoming software updates for its various platforms. These include new updates for iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and maybe even tvOS. We’ll find out at the keynote come 6 June at 1AM for us here in Malaysia.
