The Nothing Ear 2 has just been unveiled, and it is looks…largely familiar to its predecessor. But under the hood, the new wireless earbuds feature a number of improvements, including a custom dynamic driver for better sound quality, new press controls, and longer battery life.
For the Malaysian market, the Ear 2 is priced at RM599; that’s the same exact price as the outgoing Ear 1 after a price hike last year. Local pre-orders will be open later at 12AM on 23 March 2023 through Crossover’s online store.
The new earbuds will also be available for users to try out at selected stores, including Yes Experience Store at Lot 10, DirectD Gadget Mega Store at Petaling Jaya, and TMT at Mid Valley Megamall.

As mentioned, the Ear 2 now has a custom 11.6mm dynamic driver. Its diaphragm is made out of a combination of polyurethane (PU) and graphene, which is said to deliver “purer, more powerful” bass while also producing highs that sound clearer and brighter.
Other specifications of the Ear 2 include active noise cancellation (ANC), up to six hours of use on a single charge – can be extended up to 36 hours with the charging case – press controls instead of touch controls, as well as an IP54 rating; IP55 for the charging case.

To recap, the Nothing Ear 2 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia through Crossover’s online store at 12AM on 23 March; that’s mere moments from the time of writing. The new earbuds are priced at RM599 locally, and we’ll be posting our full review of the Ear 2 very soon – stay tuned for that!
