Hoyoverse Testing Cloud Version of Genshin Impact for Android in Malaysia & Singapore
March 14, 2023 Andrew Cheng

Now this is interesting: it appears Hoyoverse is testing a cloud version of Genshin Impact for Android. The company sent out a notice through the in-game mail to recruit players in Malaysia and Singapore who would be interested to give the feature a test.

According to the notice, Genshin Impact Cloud allows players to play the game at “high graphics and frame rates” without needing to download the game in its entirely. As more content are released in Genshin Impact, the overall size of the game also increases steadily.

This cloud implementation could be a solution for those with limited storage on their Android devices.

Of course, beyond saving storage space, Genshin Impact Cloud also lets mobile gamers play the game at higher graphics settings with smooth frame rates regardless of what Android device they’re using. Granted, latency is the main issue with cloud gaming, so it’ll be interesting to see how well Genshin Impact Cloud will run.

If you’re a Genshin Impact player in Malaysia or Singapore, give your in-game mail a check if you’d like to give the cloud version of the game a try. Recruitment is open until 20 March, and successful applicants will be informed via email from 7 April onwards.
