We’ve seen our fair share of concept smartphones, and at MWC 2023, OnePlus unveiled a rather interesting concept of its own. The OnePlus 11 Concept features a liquid cooling system dubbed Active CryoFlux, and the flow of the liquid is visible on the back of the phone and around the camera module.
Of course, the Active CryoFlux system isn’t there just for looks. According to OnePlus, the cooling system can lower the temperature of the phone by up to 2.1°C, which is said to provide between three to four extra frames per seconds in games.
Outside of gaming, the Active CryoFlux system offers another advantage too. During charging, for example, the cooler can bring down the temperature of the OnePlus 11 Concept by 1.6°C. This, in turn, shortens the charging time between 30 to 45 seconds.
While these benefits are by no means groundbreaking, it does make for a phone with a unique aesthetic with some improvements to the overall performance. However, as the OnePlus 11 Concept is, well, a concept phone, it remains to be seen if the Active CryoFlux system will ever make it to a consumer product.
Nonetheless, it’s still a “cool” innovation.
