Honor just unveiled its latest series of flagship phones at MWC 2023. The Honor Magic 5 and Honor Magic 5 Pro, given their premium positioning, are naturally powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. In the case of the Pro model, its triple camera system can even do up to 100x zoom.

Let’s start with the range-topping Magic 5 Pro. Its triple camera configuration is made up of a 50MP primary shooter, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor that can do 3.5x optical zoom or 100x digital zoom. As for the selfie camera, it’s a 12MP unit.

As for the standard Honor Magic 5, it has slightly different hardware. While it’s still powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, it has a more modest triple camera system made up of a 54MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 32MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom or 50x digital zoom.

Rounding out the hardware of the Magic 5 are a 6.73-inch 2688 x 1224 LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 12MP selfie camera, IP68 rating, and a 5,100mAh battery with 66W wired charging.

For European markets, the Honor Magic 5 is priced from 899 euro (about RM4,250), while the Honor Magic 5 Pro starts at 1,199 euro (approximately RM5,670). We were told that the Honor Magic 5 series will be coming to Malaysia, though it remains to be seen if both phones will be sold here.
