It looks like more Acer products are coming to Malaysia. The Acer Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 were unveiled just last week at CES 2023, and we believe these two gaming powerhouses will be available in Malaysia very soon.

Just today, both the Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 appeared in SIRIM’s database under Acer Malaysia. Before electronics can be officially sold here, they have to be certified by SIRIM first, so it’s likely the Taiwanese company is gearing up to launch the two laptops on our shores. Hopefully, alongside the Predator Triton 300 SE as well.

Hardware wise, the Helios 16 and Helios 18 are quite similar to each other. Both can be configured with Nvidia’s latest RTX 4080 GPU, 13th gen Intel Core i9 or i7 HX processors, and get this: mini-LED displays with a taller than usual 16:10 aspect ratio.

That’s where the two gaming laptops differ from each other. The Helios 16 features either a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 display at 165Hz or a mini-LED panel at 250Hz, while the Helios 18 comes with an 18-inch panel of various options that maxes out at a 250Hz mini-LED screen.

No word yet from Acer Malaysia on any local launch for the Helios 16, Helios 18, or even the Predator Triton 300 SE, which has also been certified by SIRIM. Rest assured, we will keep a close eye for any relevant development.
