It looks like Acer Malaysia is finally bringing in its compact gaming laptop, the Acer Predator Triton 300 SE, to Malaysian shores. The current refreshed model was launched back in May 2022, and compared to its predecessor, it sports a sleeker, more modern-looking design now.
As usual, we were going through SIRIM’s database when we saw the Triton 300 SE registered with the certification body under Acer Malaysia just today. Though it’s dubbed “Predator Triton 14” in the database, the N22Q8 model number points to it being the Triton 300 SE.
The refreshed Triton 300 SE is offered in two sizes. There’s the 14-inch model you see here – and likely the SIRIM certification too – and a larger 16-inch version for those who want a more expansive display. There’s even an option for an OLED screen, though this seems to be limited to the 14-inch variant.
Depending on the size of the Triton 300 SE, the refresh rate of the display also varies from 90Hz to as high as 240Hz; the resolution also ranges from 2560 x 1600 to 2880 x 1800. Regardless of which size you get, both models feature a tall 16:10 display over the previous model’s 16:9 panel.
Other specifications of the updated Triton 300 SE include a selection of Intel’s 12th generation H-series processors (up to a Core i9), Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs (maxing out at an RTX 3070 Ti), as well as custom-engineered 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans for improved cooling performance.
It remains to be seen exactly when the Acer Predator Triton 300 SE will be launched in Malaysia, but given that it has been registered with SIRIM already, we reckon its local launch is happening very soon. Rest assured, we will keep a close eye on the availability of the compact gaming laptop on our shores.
