Perodua’s 2022 sales report has just been released, and the national carmaker blew past its annual sales target for the year (247,800 units) by a pretty big margin. Throughout 2022, Perodua sold a whopping 282,019 units, which is its best yearly sales figure to date.

Compared to its total sales in 2021 (190,291 units), Perodua’s sales grew by a very respectable 48.2% in 2022. Total production of the carmaker increased accordingly as well: with 289,054 units produced last year, Perodua manufactured 49.5% more cars in 2022 compared to 2021 (193,400 units).

“Our goal was to meet customers’ expectations of us – not just in terms of delivery of products and services but also in introducing greater value offerings to all Malaysians,” said the president and CEO of Perodua, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

Just like most carmakers in Malaysia now, Perodua remains committed to deliver existing orders before the sales tax exemption deadline. “Our priority is to deliver to those who booked their Perodua within the sales tax exemption period as the price for these vehicles will remain as per agreed until 31 March 2023 deadline,” Dato’ Sri Zainal added.
