Honda Malaysia revealed its sales report for 2022, and it looks like the Japanese carmaker had an eventful year. With over 80,290 units sold last year, the company achieved its 2022 sales target while retaining its top position in the non-national passenger car segment for the ninth consecutive year.

Not surprisingly, the City continues to be Honda Malaysia’s best-selling model, which makes up 36% of the carmaker’s 2022 overall sales. These are followed by the City Hatchback and HR-V, making up 20% and 14% of total sales respectively.

“2022 was a challenging year with global chip shortage and flood disasters that have affected our car production. Honda Malaysia shifted into higher gears in 2022 and exceeded our sales target with the strong support from all the stakeholders,” said the managing director and CEO of Honda Malaysia, Hironobu Yoshimura.

“We are working closely with the suppliers and dealers to ensure timely delivery for customers, especially those who booked their cars during the sales tax exemption period,” he added. So if you’re still waiting to take delivery of your new Honda model, you don’t have to worry too much now.
