Acer just refreshed its affordable Nitro series of gaming laptops. Now sporting a new design language – alongside a sleek logo – the new Nitro 16 and Nitro 17 are now sporting Intel’s 13th gen processors and Nvidia’s just released RTX 40 series GPUs.
Yes, the Nitro 16 and Nitro 17 have been renamed to reflect their screen sizes. The Nitro 16 can be configured with a 16-inch WUXGA or WQXGA display with a 165Hz refresh rate, while the Nitro 17 features a 17.3-inch Full HD 144Hz/165Hz panel or a QHD panel with a 165Hz refresh rate.

Aside from that, the Nitro 17 also comes with more powerful 13th gen Intel Core HX processors packaged in a chassis that weighs less than 3kg. Other specifications of the two Nitro laptops include up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of fast M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, though it wasn’t mentioned which of the RTX 40 GPU either laptops get.
As usual, there’s no word yet on the Malaysian availability of the Acer Nitro 16 and Nitro 17. But given Acer Malaysia’s notable presence on our shores, there’s a good chance the two gaming laptops will eventually be sold here.
