As promised, Apple has revealed the winners for its annual App Store Award. Hoyoverse’s Honkai: Star Rail, which was released on 26 April earlier this year, is the winner of the 2023 iPhone Game of the Year award.
Star Rail edges out the other two finalists in this category, which are Afterplace and Vampire Survivors. It’s worth noting that Hoyoverse’s other game, Genshin Impact, snatched the same title before when it was first released back in 2020. To celebrate Star Rail winning the award, Hoyoverse is giving out 800 Stellar Jades to every player.
There are also a number of other noteworthy games that won the 2023 App Store Award in different categories. Lies of P snagged the Mac Game of the Year award, while Hello Kitty Island Adventure is Apple Arcade Game of the Year. The full list of winners for the 2023 App Store Award can be found right here.
“It’s inspiring to see the ways developers continue to build incredible apps and games that are redefining the world around us,” said Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple. “This year’s winners represent the limitless potential of developers to bring their visions to life, creating apps and games with remarkable ingenuity, exceptional quality, and purpose-driven missions,” he added.
