The Redmi Note 12 5G was introduced in China just last month, and it looks like the affordable phone will be available in Malaysia very soon. Once it’s launched on our shores, it will likely be the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 phone in our local market.
As usual, we were going through SIRIM’s database when we came across the Redmi Note 12 5G. It was registered under Xiaomi Malaysia just today on 30 November with the model number 22111317G, so it looks like the company is gearing up to bring the phone to our shores.
Given its affordable nature, the hardware of the Redmi Note 12 5G are quite modest. These include the aforementioned Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, a 6.67-inch 1080p OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a dual camera system (48MP primary + 2MP depth), an 8MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
No word yet from Xiaomi Malaysia on the local availability of the Redmi Note 12 5G. But given that it’s been certified by SIRIM already, we reckon it will be launched on our shores very soon. As for pricing, the Redmi Note 12 5G starts at only 1,199 Chinese yuan, which comes up to about RM745.
