At the Malaysian launch of the Ora Good Cat EV, Great Wall Motor (GWM) revealed that it is planning to launch as many as nine new models in Malaysia in the next three years. These include sedans, SUVS, pickup trucks, and more.
All nine GWM models that are to be launched in Malaysia look to be xEV vehicles; that is, they are electrified to some extent. No word yet on what these models could be, though the Haval H6 and Haval Jolion have been spotted on our local roads.
Aside from that, GWM also announced that it will start its CKD (local assembly) operations right here in Malaysia as early as next month. The plan will see the creation of over 2,000 jobs, and there’s a good chance locally assembled GWM models will be priced even more competitively.
Speaking of competitive pricing, GWM’s Ora Good Cat is currently the most affordable EV in Malaysia right now with a RM139,800 starting price. Check out our full coverage of the electric hatchback’s local launch right here.
