At the Malaysian launch of the 2022 Honda Civic e:HEV RS, the Japanese carmaker also revealed the latest sales performance of the C-segment sedan on our shores. Since its debut here in January 2022, almost 7,000 units of the 11th generation Civic were sold to date.
This makes the Civic FE the class leader in the Malaysian C-segment sedan market with 81% market share as of September 2022. With the launch of the e:HEV RS model yesterday, we reckon it will further bolster the sales of the sedan with its unique (and powerful) hybrid powertrain.

To recap, the Civic e:HEV RS features an electric motor – which largely drives the car – that outputs 184PS and 315Nm of torque, so it is the most powerful Civic FE in Malaysia yet. Of course, at higher speeds – such as highway cruising – the 2.0L petrol engine (143PS/189Nm) will be used instead through a lock-up clutch for better efficiency.
For the Malaysian market, the Civic e:HEV RS is priced at a cool RM166,500, so it sits at the top of the price range for the 11th generation Civic. For the sake of comparison, the petrol variants of the C-segment sedan range from RM130,700 to RM150,700.

All variants of the 2022 Honda Civic, including the new e:HEV RS model, are now available for booking in Malaysia at Honda showrooms nationwide. Alternatively, you can also place a pre-booking online here or through the HondaTouch app – you can download the latter from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
