Magic: The Gathering’s latest set, The Brothers’ War, will be released for tabletop later this week on 18 November. It is the second instalment in MTG’s four-part Phyrexian storyline, and it is a crossover with Transformers – yes, that Transformers.
Containing 287 cards, The Brothers’ War brings back several mechanics, including Meld. It’s a keyword that combines two cards to create one oversized card – perfectly in theme with the Transformers crossover – and there’s also Unearth, which returns cards from the graveyard, though they are exiled at the end of the turn.
As is the case with previous MTG expansions as of late, The Brothers’ War offer exclusive tokens (Construct and Urzan Automaton) for players in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. One of the tokens is given to purchases of The Brothers’ War products worth RM450, and the tokens can be connected to the exclusive token released in Dominaria United – and the following set after this one – to form a battlefield mural.
The Brothers’ War will be available for tabletop worldwide – including Malaysia, of course – as Draft, Set, Collector, and Jumpstart Boosters later this week on 18 November; Commander decks and Bundles are also offered. If you’re keen to pre-order the new set, check with your nearest hobby shop.
