November 4, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Proton just shared its sales performance for October 2022. With 13,013 units sold last month, the national carmaker has registered a total of 115,366 units in 2022 so far, surpassing 2021’s total sales of 114,708 units.

In fact, Proton’s sales performance this year is the company’s best since 2014, and its SUVs make up quite a large portion with 48,729 units delivered this year. Of course, the Proton X50 leads the segment with 33,193 units sold between January to October 2022, while the X70 was delivered to 15,536 buyers in the same time period.

“Proton’s fourth consecutive year of volume growth coincides with the brand’s entry into the SUV market with the Proton X70. It’s an achievement the company is proud of and despite the launch of newer rivals, it remains a class leader,” said the deputy CEO of Proton, Roslan Abdullah.

“Therefore, to celebrate its upcoming fourth birthday, we are offering customers gifts comprising accessories worth RM1,499, interest rates as low as 2.52%, and many other surprises from our dealerships if they purchase a Proton X70 in November,” he added.

Beyond its SUVs, Proton’s best-selling model continues to be the Saga with 45,965 units delivered in the first 10 months of 2022. This is an increase of 42% compared to last year’s performance, so evidently, the facelifted model is quite popular among Malaysians.
