Huawei just launched its latest flagship smartphone on our shores, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. Featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset – albeit a 4G version – one of the highlights of the Mate 50 Pro is its camera system with variable aperture.
Two variants of the Mate 50 Pro are offered in Malaysia. The base model with 256GB base model is priced at RM4,499, while the 512GB configuration (available only in the Orange Vegan Leather Edition) goes for RM5,299. Both variants are equipped with 8GB of RAM.

For that kind of money, the Mate 50 Pro features the aforementioned Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, though it doesn’t feature 5G capability. It also has a triple camera system made up of a 50MP primary sensor with variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0), a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP telephoto camera.
Other specifications of the Mate 50 Pro include a 6.74-inch 2616 x 1212 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 13MP selfie camera, a 4,700mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging, an IP68 water and dust resistance, and EMUI 13 out of the box.

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro is now available for pre-order in Malaysia until 11 November next week. Early birds will also get up to RM1,450 worth of freebies, including a Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro smartwatch.
