The government’s ePemula cashless transaction scheme is returning in 2023! This was revealed in the tabling of Budget 2023: those in the M40 income group will receive RM100, while students and youths will get RM200.

Previously, only students and youths were eligible for the ePemula programme, so it’s quite neat that those in the M40 income group can also benefit from the scheme. It’s worth noting that for ePemula 2022, youths and students were given RM150, so it’s a RM50 increase for next year’s initiative.

It remains to be seen when the ePemula 2023 programme will begin, though we reckon more details will be revealed in the near future. It’ll be interesting to see if the government will engage with the same ewallet services, which included ShopeePay, Touch ‘n Go eWallet, BigPay, and GrabPay.
