Honda Malaysia Recalls 702 Units of 2022 Civic FE & 2021 City RS Hybrid
September 20, 2022 Andrew Cheng

If you own either the 2022 Honda Civic FE or the 2021 Honda City RS e:HEV hybrid, take note. Both of these models – 702 units, to be specific – have been recalled by Honda Malaysia as a safety precaution. Affected customers will be informed via notification letters.

The two models are recalled for different reasons. In the case of the Civic FE, the welding point at the slide adjuster of the driver seat needs to be rectified. The issue may cause the driver seat to not be fixed in position when driving, which can compromise seatbelt protection for the driver. For this issue, 72 units of the Civic FE are affected.

As for the City RS e:HEV, the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) camera that’s fitted in the front windscreen needs to be replaced. According to Honda Malaysia, the camera may not operate properly as it is, causing ADAS to be inactive when driving. 630 units of the City RS are affected by this.

Honda Malaysia apologises for the inconvenience caused by this recall, and the inspection, repair, and replacement of affected parts are (naturally) free of charge. The carmaker also assures customers that Honda models in production and on sale right now are not affected by this product recall.

No incidences of crashes or injuries caused by this issue have been reported in Malaysia.
