At Sony’s State of Play event this morning, the Japanese company released a new story trailer for God of War Ragnarok. Set to be available on 9 November, the latest entry in the God of War franchise will be playable on both the PS5 and PS4.
Ragnarok takes place a few years after the events of the 2018 God of War. Kratos’ son, Atreus, is now a teenager, and he “wants to understand who he is more than anything,” as the developer puts it. After all, the big revelation of the previous game is the fact that he is – spoiler alert – the infamous Loki in Norse mythology.
Speaking of which, Kratos and Atreus will also face off against the legendary Aesir god Thor in Ragnarok, along with Freya from the previous game. Naturally, Ragnarok will introduce a number of new enemies and abilities as well. Kratos will have new attacks and weapons, while Atreus seems to have gained some new tricks as well.
You can now pre-order God of War Ragnarok: the Standard Edition for the PS4 costs RM249, while the PS5 version goes for RM299. There’s also a Digital Deluxe Edition for RM339, which includes both the PS4 and PS5 version, a Dark Horse digital mini artbook, an avatar set, a PS4 theme, a digital soundtrack, and in-game cosmetic items.
