Genshin Impact 3.1 Livestream Set for 16 September – New Sumeru Area?
September 14, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Hoyoverse just revealed the livestream date for Genshin Impact‘s next update, Version 3.1. Set to take place on 16 September this Friday – Malaysia Day! – the version update should see the introduction of a new area within Sumeru.

So far, the Sumeru region in Genshin Impact 3.0 consists of the forest area; there’s no desert landscape as shown in the teaser image of the upcoming livestream. It’s also worth noting that Hoyoverse already gave us a glimpse of Sumeru’s desert area in the Gamescom 2022 trailer below.

The Version 3.1 update is dubbed King Deshret and the Three Magi, which looks to be a continuation of the current Sumeru storyline in Genshin Impact. Aside from that, the new update should see the introduction of three new playable characters that were previously teased, namely Nilou, Cyno, and Candace.

As with previous Genshin Impact version update livestreams, redemption codes offering Primogems will be given during the stream as well. You can catch the livestream of Genshin Impact Version 3.1 through Twitch this Saturday on 16 September at 8PM for us here in Malaysia.

If you missed the stream, don’t worry: the special program will be on YouTube shortly after at 12AM the next day (16 September). Looking at the release schedule shared by Hoyoverse a while back, Genshin Impact 3.1 should be released on 28 September.
