Here are the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and these two phones finally bid goodbye to the notch…for a pill-shaped cutout. But Apple does introduce a new UI design that cleverly takes advantage of the cutout dubbed “Dynamic Island,” which does make for a…unique user experience.
When you get a notification or playing music, the Dynamic Island will expand accordingly to show these elements. Honestly, it’s a smart, playful UI element to make the pill-shaped cutout feel more…purposeful. Of course, the cutout still looks quite odd when nothing is happening, but hey, props to Apple for the smart UI design.
Oh, there’s also an always on display now (finally).
As expected, the iPhone 14 Pro models feature Apple’s latest A16 Bionic chip; a hardware the more affordable iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus do not get. As usual, the new chip promises superior performance, along with better power efficiency to further improve battery life.
In the camera department, the iPhone 14 Pro phones naturally offer some notable upgrades, including a new 48MP primary camera with pixel binning for improved image quality. The telephoto and ultra-wide angle sensors also bring better low light performance.
No changes to the starting price of the iPhone 14 Pro series – in the US, at least. The iPhone 14 Pro retails from $999 (about RM4,495), while the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at $1,099 (approximately RM4,945). We’re trying to secure the Malaysian pricing of the two phones right now, so stay tuned!
