Honor just launched the Honor 70 in Malaysia. Sporting a rather sleek-looking design and respectable hardware for a phone in its segment, it looks to be positioned as a premium mid-ranger with a rather interesting camera system.
Only one variant of the Honor 70 is offered in Malaysia. Featuring 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the phone is priced at RM1,999 for our market. It’s also available in three colours: Crystal Silver, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black.
One of the most highlighted features of the Honor 70 is its 54MP primary camera with a Sony IMX 800 1/1.49-inch sensor. It’s said to be able to capture more light than a conventional smartphone camera sensor, which should translate to improved low light performance. Complementing that sensor is a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 2MP depth camera.
Other specifications of the Honor 70 include a 6.67-inch 2400 x 1080 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, a 32MP selfie camera, a 4,800mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging, and Honor’s Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12.
The Honor 70 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia later tonight at 9.30PM; early birds can even get free gifts worth up to RM597. Retailing at RM1,999, it’s certainly priced on the higher side for a mid-ranger, though the Honor 70 does have a rather interesting camera configuration – even if it’s lacking a telephoto lens.
