CIMB to Support Apple Pay in 2H 2023
August 18, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Apple Pay was officially launched in Malaysia just last week, but only three banks currently support the convenient payment service. But this will change in the future, as CIMB just revealed it is currently working to support Apple Pay.

According to Amanz, CIMB is targeting to support Apple Pay sometime in the second half of 2023. Yes, it will be a while before you can start adding your CIMB cards to the payment service, but it is nice to have confirmation from the bank itself.

To recap, Apple Pay makes it easier to make payments with a compatible Apple product, as it allows you to add your credit card or debit card to the service. Once you’ve set up Apple Pay on, say, your iPhone, you can use your phone to make payments at retailers that support the service.

If you’ve got a card issued by Maybank, AmBank, or Standard Chartered, you can now add it to Apple Pay to start making payments with the service. If you’re not sure how to do that, here’s our guide on how to activate Apple Pay on an iPhone.
