Lenovo Legion 5 Lands in Malaysia – 12th Gen Intel or AMD Ryzen 6000 Chips From RM4,839

If the Pro model doesn’t strike your fancy, consider the more affordable Lenovo Legion 5. Also offered with Intel’s 12th gen or AMD Ryzen 6000 processors, the Legion 5 starts at only RM4,839, though you do have to pay quite a bit more if you want the range-topping model with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU.

Between the Intel and AMD models, the latter is more affordable, so let’s get to that first. The base variant of the AMD-powered Legion 5 starts at RM4,839, and it features a Ryzen 5 6600H processor paired with 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, a 15.6-inch 1440p IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, and an RTX 3050 GPU.

As for the Intel version, dubbed Legion 5i, the most affordable model costs RM5,729. For that kind of money, it is packed with a Core i5-12500H processor paired with 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS display with a 165Hz refresh rate, and an RTX 3060 GPU.

Although both the Intel and AMD versions of the Legion 5 share the same chassis, their hardware (and starting price) do differ quite a bit, curiously enough. The base model of the AMD configuration, for one, has a sharper 1440p screen compared to its Intel counterpart with a 1080p display, though the Intel model does come with a faster RTX 3060 GPU rather than an RTX 3050.

Anyway, the full configurations of the Lenovo Legion 5 and Legion 5i can be found on Lenovo Malaysia’s online store, including the RTX 3070 version of both models.
