It’s been rumoured for quite some time now, but here it is: Maybank just released a support page for Apple Pay, confirming the availability of the service in Malaysia. On top of that, Maybank also revealed a list of its cards that can be added to Apple Pay.
Looking at the list, both credit and debit cards from Maybank support Apple Pay. While American Express cards from the bank are not listed at the moment, Maybank said that support for AMEX cards will be added in due time, though Maybank corporate cards are not eligible for Apple Pay.

Apple Pay makes it much easier to make payments with a compatible Apple product, as it allows you to add your credit card or debit card to the service. Once you’ve set up Apple Pay on, say, your iPhone, you can use your phone to make payments at retailers that support the service. So long as they have a card terminal, Apple Pay should be supported.
Although Maybank already released the support page for Apple Pay, it remains to be seen exactly when the service will be available in Malaysia, though we reckon it will go live on our shores very soon.
