We finally got word on the Malaysian launch of the Nothing Phone 1! The premium mid-ranger will make its debut here later this week on 20 July, and it’s likely the phone will only be offered in one configuration.
After all, two variants of the Phone 1 were removed from the Malaysian pre-order page last week. Both the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations are no longer listed, and the latter even had a RM2,699 price tag.
Right now, only the 8GB + 256GB model is left on the pre-order page, which is priced at RM2,399.
Anyway, for that kind of money, the Nothing Phone 1 features a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset with 5G connectivity, which should be more than capable to provide a fast, zippy user experience. This is complemented by the phone’s equally speedy 6.55-inch 1080p OLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
Other specifications of the Phone 1 include a dual camera system (50MP primary + 50MP ultra-wide angle), a 16MP selfie camera, an IP53 rating, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a reasonably big 4,500mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
The Nothing Phone 1 will be launched in Malaysia this Wednesday on 20 July. Given that the phone is set to be available in selected markets the very next day on 21 July, there’s a good chance the Phone 1 can also be purchased here on the same day.
