The 2022 Honda HR-V has just been launched in Malaysia today, though bookings for the B-segment SUV were opened on 9 June. If you booked the new HR-V by 30 June last month, good news: you stand to save up to RM4,952.
That’s because all passenger cars booked by 30 June 2022 will be eligible for sales tax exemption, provided that said cars are registered by 31 March 2023 next year. If you fulfill these criteria, you can get the new HR-V without sales tax included.
Refer to the table below to see how much you can (potentially) save.
2022 Honda HR-V | Current Price (with SST) | Price (without SST) | Price difference |
1.5L S | RM114,800 | RM110,386 | +RM4,414 |
1.5L E (Turbo) | RM129,800 | RM124,971 | +RM4,829 |
1.5L V (Turbo) | RM134,800 | RM129,848 | +RM4,952 |
1.5L e:HEV RS | RM140,800 | RM137,091 | +RM3,709 |
We got these tax-free prices from Honda Malaysia itself, and if you get the V trim of the HR-V, you can save a whopping RM4,952. Curiously, the range-topping RS model gets the least amount of discount despite being the most expensive variant.
Of course, given that the waiting period for the 2022 Honda HR-V is over 12 months now, it’s possible not all customers who booked the B-segment SUV by 30 June can enjoy the tax-free prices. Nonetheless, Honda Malaysia assures customers that it will deliver the new HR-V in a timely manner, so fingers crossed.
