At Apple’s WWDC 2022 event, the Cupertino company revealed some details on the brand new iOS 16. One of the most significant changes lie in the lock screen: not only can you create multiple lock screens in the new update, it is also more customisable than ever.

These new customisation options in iOS 16 will really give users a lock screen that is unique to them. In order to change between different lock screens, for example, all you need to do is just swipe across the screen. You can also change the fonts and colours used.

Widgets can also be added to the lock screen in iOS 16, not to mention a slight revamp on how notifications are shown. Instead of piling up notifications from the same app – effectively blocking the details – iOS 16 will “roll in” said notifications from the bottom instead.

Not many smartphone makers focus too much on the lock screen of their operating systems, so Apple’s decision to revamp its lock screen is certainly an interesting one. iOS 16 should debut alongside the iPhone 14 series as early as September 2022.
