The RedMagic 7 series of gaming smartphones are coming to Malaysia (officially) soon, which include the standard model, as well as the RedMagic 7 Pro. Sporting some powerful hardware under the hood – including a 165Hz display – these two phones may appease even the most demanding mobile gamer.
Curiously, only the regular RedMagic 7 has a 6.8-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The Pro model, on the other hand, has a more modest 120Hz AMOLED panel of the same size and resolution, though it does have an under-display camera as well for a sleeker look.
Beyond that, both the RedMagic 7 and Pro models share similar hardware. These include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, a triple camera system (64MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide angle + 2MP macro), capacitive shoulder buttons, and a built-in fan. It’s worth noting that the Pro variant has a 16MP selfie camera and a 5,000mAh battery, while the standard version has an 8MP shooter and 4,500mAh battery.
Although it’s now confirmed the RedMagic 7 and RedMagic 7 Pro will be coming to Malaysia officially in Malaysia – online listings of the phone do not come with local warranty – no specific launch date was given. That being said, we were told that they will arrive before the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, which is set to arrive sometime in September 2022.
