Originally slated for release in March, the Dell XPS 13 Plus is finally available in Malaysia now. Redesigned from the ground up, the new ultraportable features a sleeker, cleaner-looking design, though not necessarily more practical.
For the Malaysian market, the XPS 13 Plus starts at RM6,999 for the base model. It features an Intel Core i5-1240P processor paired with 16GB of RAM, a 13.4-inch 1920 x 1200 non-touch display, 512GB of SSD storage, and Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics.

If you want a faster processor or a sharper, more vibrant OLED panel for the XPS 13 Plus, you can change it accordingly in the configurator. For example, swapping the processor to a Core i7-1260P is a RM500 upgrade, and if you want the range-topping UHD+ touch-enabled display, it’ll set you back RM1,600.
On the outside, the XPS 13 Plus doesn’t look all that different from its predecessor, but it’s almost a completely different laptop on the inside. Gone are the physical function keys in favour of capacitive keys (almost like Apple’s Touch Bar), and the trackpad has been replaced with a “seamless glass touchpad” that provides haptic feedback.

Also redesigned is the keyboard of the XPS 13 Plus. The keys are now larger, and they still provide the same 1mm of travel as the previous model. All in all, these changes make for a clean-looking laptop, though not knowing where the trackpad is and having to use capacitive keys instead of physical ones for the function row may be cumbersome.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus is now available for purchase on Dell’s Malaysian online store. With a RM6,999 starting price, it’s certainly positioned as a premium offering.
