After some delay, Hoyoverse finally revealed the launch date of Genshin Impact 2.7. Set to go live on 31 May, the company also confirmed the event wishes of two new characters: Yelan (5-star) and Kuki Shinobu (4-star). Xiao and Arataki Itto will also get their own rerun banners.
According to Hoyoverse, Yelan is a Hydro DPS bow character that “combines rapid attacks with agile mobility.” As the trailer below shows, she seems to have a special sprint to quickly get from one point to another. As for Kuki Shinobu, she is said to be an Electro support character that uses a sword; she’s able to heal other party members by consuming her own HP.
Of course, Version 2.7 of Genshin Impact will also continue the game’s main storyline with a new Archon quest. The story will actually feature both Yelan and Kuki Shinobu, alongside Xiao, Itto, and even Yanfei. Given Hoyoverse’s storytelling chops, we reckon the new Archon quest will be entertaining.
Other new content coming to the Version 2.7 update include an event-exclusive 4-star bow, Fading Twilight, that can be obtained by completing the “Realms of Guile and War” combat challenge. Yelan will also get her own story quest, while Kuki Shinobu will be added to the Hangout event.
Genshin Impact 2.7 will arrive in the next two weeks on 31 May. Yelan and Xiao’s event wishes will be available once the update is live, while Itto’s banner – also featuring Kuki Shinobu – will be offered right after.
