It’s less than 24 hours before the 2022 Proton Saga MC2 (Minor Change 2) facelift makes its debut tomorrow on 12 May. Before that, Proton has one more teaser to show, which confirms the new A-segment sedan’s push start button.
Given that the facelifted Saga’s keyless ignition feature is officially confirmed by Proton, there’s a good chance the sedan will also get keyless entry. After all, numerous leaks have confirmed this convenient feature; you can even see the button for keyless entry on the driver’s side door handle in the leaked image below.

Based on previous leaks, we know that the Saga MC2 is offered in four variants: Standard MT, Standard AT, Premium AT, and the range-topping Premium S AT. Naturally, the latter gets all the bells and whistles, including the aforementioned push start button, keyless entry, semi-leather seats, and side skirts with a front bumper lip.
No changes to the engine of the facelifted Saga is expected, so it will likely soldier on with the same 1.3L four-cylinder engine that outputs 95hp and 120Nm of torque. It should still be mated to a four-speed automatic transmission as well.

The 2022 Proton Saga MC2 facelift will make its debut on 12 May tomorrow; the virtual launch will take place on Proton’s Facebook page at 9.45AM. If you’re keen to get the new Saga, you can register your interest right here.
