Launched back in June 2020, the Honda BR-V facelift just received two new colour options: Ignite Red Metallic and Meteoroid Grey Metallic. These two new colours replace the existing Passion Red Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic options respectively.

To recap, two variants of the facelifted BR-V are offered. The E trim costs RM86,726, while the range-topping V variant goes for RM93,693. Of course, these prices are with sales tax exemption applied until 30 June 2022.

Compared to the pre-facelift model, the current BR-V gets some styling changes that lend to a more “masculine look,” as Honda puts it. Both the E and V trims are now equipped with a new front grille, front bumper, and lower bumper garnish, though it’s worth noting that only the V variant gets fog lamps. Besides that, the facelift gets new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheel design too, along with a revised rear bumper (with vertical reflectors) and shark fin antenna.

Of course, the cabin of the updated BR-V gets some neat changes too. Standard equipment across the two variants include tweeter speakers, cabin filter, automatic air-conditioning, keyless entry, and push-start button. The range-topping V trim, on the other hand, gets a seven-inch infotainment screen, paddle shifters, leather seats with red accents, and a gear knob with red stitching.

Beyond these changes, the facelifted BR-V is identical to the previous model. It soldiers on with the familiar 1.5L four-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC engine, which outputs 120hp and 145Nm of torque. It is also mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) just as before with drive sent to the front wheels.

Safety equipment of the updated BR-V remains the same as the pre-facelift model. These include driver and front passenger airbags, vehicle stability assist (VSA), traction control system (TCS), anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), and three-point seat belts for all seven seats.
