Acer just launched quite a sleek-looking (and eco-friendly) productivity laptop in Malaysia. This is the Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition, a special edition of the Aspire Vero. Not only does it have a unique aesthetic, it also carries the same price tag as the standard model at launch too, while offering twice as much SSD storage.
Only a single variant of the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition is offered in Malaysia. Priced at RM4,299, it comes with an Intel Core i7-1195G7 processor paired with 16GB of RAM, a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, along with a generous 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage.
Compared to the regular model, the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition has a few unique design elements. There are contour lines on the lid of the laptop of a topographic map, the iconic National Geographic yellow border on the palm rest area, and a “For Planet Earth” script on the spacebar.
This being an eco-friendly product, the chassis of the Aspire Vero is composed of 30% PCR plastic, which cuts CO2 emissions by 21% for the production of this particular part. The laptop’s keycaps also contain 50% PCR plastic, and even the 100% recyclable packaging of the laptop can be repurposed as a laptop stand.
Each purchase of the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition helps support the US-based global non-profit National Geographic Society “in its work efforts to protect our world through exploration, research, and education,” as Acer puts it.
The Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition laptop will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 1 May onwards for RM4,299. There’s also a trade-in programme for the laptop – you can get up to RM500 cash rebate by trading in (working or non-functional) tablets, laptops, desktops, and even AIO systems.
