Shopee Sellers to Be Charged Unsuccessful Order Fees From 9 May 2022
April 18, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Shopee is implementing a new change on 9 May 2022 next month. For orders that are approved for return/refund, Shopee sellers will be charged an “unsuccessful order fee,” which include forward shipping fee (FSF) and/or return shipping fee (RSF).

However, Shopee sellers will only be charged this fee if the return/refund case is caused by the seller’s fault. These include wrong orders, incomplete items, or counterfeit products. FSF and RSF will not be charged if the buyer’s return/refund request is “change of mind” either.

According to Shopee, FSF and RSF are charged by its logistics partners. FSF is paid by buyers, while RSF is borne by Shopee itself. Chances are, Shopee is implementing this new system so that sellers will be more careful with their orders.

If you’d like to learn more about Shopee’s new unsuccessful order fee system, you can read the full details here and here. While buyers are largely unaffected by this, sellers being more careful with their orders will ultimately ensure a more pleasant shopping experience for buyers.
