Subscribe to the Volvo XC40 Recharge or Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV From RM4,200/Month on Flux
April 13, 2022 Andrew Cheng

If you want to get the ownership experience of an EV without being tied to a car loan, then consider subscribing to one – well, it’s basically renting – from Flux, a car subscription service. The company just added the Volvo XC40 Recharge and Hyundai Ioniq 5 to its lineup, and you can pre-book both of them right now.

That being said, both of these EVs are only expected to be delivered to Flux subscribers in late May next month. The more affordable of the two is the Ioniq 5 in base Lite trim, which starts at a cool RM4,200 a month if you opt for the 36-month plan.

As for the XC40 Recharge, it costs RM5,200 a month for the same 36-month plan.

However, there are other costs to consider. On top of the monthly subscription cost, there’s also a 6% service fee to be paid every month, bringing the total to RM4,452 and RM5,512 a month for the Ioniq 5 and XC40 Recharge respectively. There’s also a start fee of RM4,494.40 and RM5,618.00 to be paid for the cars’ “initial costs,” as Flux puts it.

While these are large sums of money, you won’t need to worry about insurance, road tax, maintenance, or wear and tear if you subscribe to the XC40 Recharge or Ioniq 5 with Flux; all of these are included in the monthly cost. Of course, there’s also the fact that you won’t be tied to a bank loan.

If you’re interested, you can pre-book the Volvo XC40 Recharge or Hyundai Ioniq 5 with Flux right now. To recap, they are expected to be delivered in late May 2022, and selected plans also come with free charger and concierge service.
