Xiaomi announced a slew of new phones today, and the most affordable device of the lot is the Redmi 10 5G. Not only is it very budget-friendly, it is also the first phone in the Redmi series – not to be confused with the Redmi Note lineup – to feature 5G connectivity.

Two variants of the Redmi 10 5G have been announced. The base model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage retails at $199 (about RM840), while the more practical 128GB configuration (also with 4GB RAM) costs $229 (approximately RM965).

Powering the Redmi 10 5G is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip, which gives the phone its 5G connectivity. Other specifications of this affordable device include a 6.58-inch 1080p display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a dual camera system (50MP primary + 2MP depth), a 5MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Xiaomi Malaysia confirmed that the Redmi 10 5G will be available on our shores, though no specific timeline or price was given. Nonetheless, it should be priced lower than the RM999 Redmi Note 11S 5G.
