Launched alongside the Xiaomi 12 series in Malaysia are two smartwatches from the Chinese company, the Xiaomi Watch S1 and Watch S1 Active. Retailing from RM649, these are reasonably affordable (and sleek) wearables.

Out of the two smartwatches, the sporty Watch S1 Active is the more affordable option with a RM649 price tag. The classier-looking Watch S1, on the other hand, is priced at RM899. Interestingly, the S1 is bundled with both leather and fluororubber straps.

Of course, you’re not just paying more for the S1 to get the extra strap; its display is also protected by sapphire glass. Compared to regular glass, sapphire glass is much more resistant to scratches. Complementing this hardy glass is the stainless steel case of the S1 for a more premium look and feel. The S1 Active has a plastic case instead.

Aside from that, both the S1 and S1 Active share the same hardware. These include a 1.43-inch 466 x 466 circular AMOLED display, a heart rate sensor, the ability to monitor blood oxygen level, a 5 ATM water resistance rating, as well as a 470mAh battery that can offer up to 24 days of standby time in battery saver mode.

The Xiaomi Watch S1 and S1 Active are now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM899 and RM649 respectively. Early birds who get the S1 by 24 March will also receive a Redmi Buds 3 Pro (worth RM239) for free, while the S1 Active will be bundled with a Redmi buds 3 Lite (worth RM99).
