Aside from the Xiaomi 12 Pro, the more affordable Xiaomi 12 has also been launched in Malaysia. Just like its higher-end sibling, the standard Xiaomi 12 is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, but in a more compact form factor and lower price tag.
Two variants of the Xiaomi 12 are offered in Malaysia. The 8GB + 128GB base model is priced at RM2,899, while the 8GB + 256GB configuration costs RM2,999. Do note that the more affordable base model can only be purchased through Shopee and Lazada. If you’re quick, you can get it for RM2,799 through a flash sale on both e-commerce platforms.

Compared to the higher-end (and more costly) Pro model, the Xiaomi 12 omits the telephoto camera for a 5MP telemacro shooter. Complementing that sensor is a 50MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens; reasonably versatile camera configuration.
Rounding out the specifications of the Xiaomi 12 are a compact 6.28-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 32MP selfie camera, as well as MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. Despite its more compact form factor, Xiaomi still managed to pack a 4,500mAh battery into this phone with support for 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

You can pre-order the Xiaomi 12 in Malaysia at RM2,899 (or RM2,799 in a flash sale) and RM2,999 for the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB models respectively at 10PM tonight. The former can only be pre-ordered through Shopee and Lazada, while the latter is available here.
