Just last month, Proton revealed that it has sold over 100,000 SUVs locally, securing its position as the number one SUV brand in Malaysia. Well, the national carmaker seems to be maintaining this momentum: it just revealed that the exceedingly popular Proton X50 has received over 100,000 bookings.

The X50 managed to achieve this impressive figure in only 16 months, making it the best-selling SUV in Malaysia. Just last month in February 2021, as many as 3,002 units of the B-segment SUV were delivered to customers.

Deliveries took a dip in January 2022 due to the floods, where 2,601 bookings of the X50 were fulfilled. As for the previous two months, as many as 4,310 and 4,010 units were registered in December and November 2021 respectively. In 2021 itself, the SUV found 28,774 homes.
