Just last week, Honda Malaysia confirmed the launch of two all-new models sometime this year, which are likely the 2022 Honda HR-V and Honda BR-V. Well, the former has just been spotted on Malaysian road!
This image came from local automotive site WapCar. The heavily camouflaged B-segment SUV is likely the HR-V based on its silhouette, even though the trade plate is mounted on the rear bumper instead of the tailgate.
Speaking of which, this is definitely Honda’s trade pate; it was previously used on a BR-V test mule back in 2016.
So what can we expect out of the 2022 HR-V? Well, aside from its much more modern styling, Honda Malaysia is likely bringing in both the e:HEV hybrid model and the 1.5L turbocharged VTEC engine option, which should make it more appealing to a wider range of customers.
On top of that, the new HR-V will likely feature the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance safety systems too. It may even feature the Honda Connect telematics system as well, much like the new Honda Civic and Honda City.
Now that Honda Malaysia is already testing the 2022 Honda HR-V on our local roads, there’s a good chance it will be launched first, followed by the 2022 BR-V. Granted, this is only our own educated guess at this point in time – we’ll just have to wait for an official announcement from Honda Malaysia.
