Honda Malaysia Targets 80,000 Sales in 2022 – Focus on New Model Launches & Mobile Service Programme
February 18, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Honda Malaysia made a slew of announcements yesterday, including its sales target for the year. In 2022, Honda is aiming to sell 80,000 cars; that’s a whopping 50% increase from its 2021 sales performance, where it sold 53,031 units.

The Japanese carmaker plans to achieve this lofty sales target by by introducing two all-new models and improving its aftersales service, including a mobile service programme. Though Honda Malaysia did not reveal the two new models it plans to launch this year, it’s very likely the 2022 Honda HR-V and Honda BR-V.

After all, these two models have already made their debuts in the ASEAN market – it only makes sense for Malaysia to get them too. It’s also worth noting that Honda Malaysia mentioned it is planning to bring in more models packed with the carmaker’s range of technologies.

These include e:HEV technology, its VTEC turbocharged engine, Honda Sensing, and even Honda Connect. Chances are, we can expect to see these features in the 2022 HR-V and BR-V.

As for the mobile service programme, it allows Honda customers to get their car serviced at a location they prefer. Bookings can be done through the Honda Touch app – you can download it from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store – though the service is not available just yet.

With the upcoming launch of two new models – along with the recent introduction of the new Civic and City Hatchback – and improved aftersales service, Honda Malaysia’s 80,000 sales target is definitely achievable. What do you think: are you excited for the 2022 HR-V and BR-V?
