The 2022 Proton Saga facelift has been spotted yet again on the road. This time around, we get a closer look at the A-segment sedan’s side profile, which reveals a nice upgrade: keyless entry.
These images were taken by Paultan.org reader Putra Kamrin Azran at Genting Highlands. If you look closely at the door handle on the driver’s side, there appears to be a button for keyless entry. This suggests that the affordable sedan will finally get the feature.
According to Paultan, which quoted a source familiar with the matter, the upcoming Saga facelift will also get a push start button.
Previous spy shots of the 2022 Saga has its grille covered up; even the front lip and side skirts of the sedan are blacked out. With this in mind, there’s a good chance it will sport Proton’s updated circular logo and a new body kit.
Beyond aesthetic changes, the facelifted Saga should soldier on with the same 1.3L four-cylinder engine that outputs 95hp and 120Nm of torque. The mill is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission that’s sourced from Hyundai. In fact, this is the same transmission used in the Kia Picanto.

Rumours suggest that the 2022 Proton Saga facelift will be introduced sometime in the first half of 2022. There’s a chance the Proton X70 will be updated too, and some even believe that the much-rumoured Proton X90 will debut before the year ends.
