There’s another foldable phone in the market, this time from Honor. Enter the Honor Magic V: not only is it powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, it’s also touted to sport a creaseless foldable display.
It’s worth noting that the Magic V is the first foldable phone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which promises 30% faster GPU with 25% better power efficiency. As for the main foldable display, the 7.9-inch 2272 x 1984 OLED panel has a 90Hz refresh rate and a creaseless design.
Another highlight of the Magic V is its cover screen. It’s a 6.45-inch 2560 x 1080 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 21.3:9 aspect ratio. This aspect ratio is similar to that of a traditional smartphone, “rather than appearing long and narrow,” as Honor puts it.
Other specifications of the Magic V include a triple camera system (50MP primary + 50MP ultra-wide angle + 50MP “spectra enhanced”), two 42MP selfie cameras for the cover and main screens, 12GB of RAM, two storage options (256GB or 512GB), and a 4,750mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.
The Honor Magic V is currently only available in China. Starting at 9,999 Chinese yuan (about RM6,580), it’s not an exorbitantly priced foldable phone. If it’s launched in other markets, we reckon Malaysia will be one of the first to get the Magic V, given Honor’s notable presence here.
