2022 Peugeot 2008 Now Open for Booking in Malaysia – Starts at RM1XX,XXX
January 10, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Set to be launched sometime this month, the 2022 Peugeot 2008 is now open for booking in Malaysia – well, sort of. On top of that, the starting price of the B-segment SUV has been revealed too: it’s set to retail from RM1XX,XXX locally.

We managed to get the starting price of the new Peugeot 2008 in Malaysia from the SUV’s product page on the carmaker’s official Malaysian site right here. However, it’s worth noting that the product page for the SUV is actually hidden from the main site, though it is accessible to the general public.

As for local booking of the Peugeot 2008, Bermaz itself – the distributor of Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia – has not made any announcement regarding it, though Peugeot Kota Damansara is already taking bookings for the SUV. You can even request for a test drive with the showroom through its website, as shown in the image above.

Local assembly (CKD) of the Peugeot 2008 has actually started at the Stellantis plant in Gurun, Kedah, which was formerly owned by Naza. That being said, the SUV is currently produced for the Thailand market, so with that in mind, it’s likely that Malaysia will get similarly equipped model.

These include a 1.2L three-cylinder turbo petrol engine – the same one used in the previous 2008 – that’s been retuned to deliver 130hp and 230Nm of torque, a six-speed automatic gearbox, 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as a suite of driver assistance systems, including cruise control, lane keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

To recap, the 2022 Peugeot 2008 will start from RM1XX,XXX in Malaysia, though it’s worth noting that the official product page (where the starting price was shown) is currently hidden, so there is a chance it’s not finalised. Aside from that, Peugeot Kota Damansara has also opened bookings for the new 2008.
