New Acer Swift X Laptops Offer Intel Arc or RTX 3050 Ti GPU in a Thin & Light Chassis
January 5, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Acer just introduced two thin and light laptops with reasonably powerful hardware. Enter the new Swift X: available in 14-inch and 16-inch models, the new laptops can be configured with the brand new Intel Arc dedicated GPU or Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card.

Of course, the Intel Arc GPU is reserved for the more powerful 16-inch Swift X. Aside from Intel’s latest discrete GPU, it also features a sharp 2560 x 1600 IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and up to 400 nits of brightness. The 14-inch variant, in comparison, features a 2240 x 1400 IPS panel instead.

Aside from that, the 14-inch Swift X is also equipped with an RTX 3050 Ti GPU. Given that this graphics card is packed into a 17.9mm thin aluminium chassis – 17.95mm for the 16-inch model – it’s quite impressive. It also tips the scales at 1.4kg, so you can easily lug it around in your backpack. The 16-inch variant, given its bigger size, weighs 1.7kg instead.

Beyond that, both versions of the Swift X feature the same hardware. These include Intel’s latest 12th generation Core processors (up to 12 cores), up to 16GB of RAM and 2TB of PCIe SSD storage, a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello authentication, and Windows 11 out of the box.

No word yet on the price or availability of the Acer Swift X laptops. Given Acer’s wide presence here in Malaysia, we reckon the two laptops will be sold here in due time.
