The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 still remains one of my favourite gaming laptops since it first launched in 2020, and the latest 2022 revision finally makes it a more complete laptop. Aside from the usual hardware upgrades, the new G14 now features a webcam and a taller display.
That’s right, the G14 finally gets a webcam and a 16:10 display, making it that much better as a productivity laptop. Speaking of which, it is also one of the first laptops to get Asus’ new Nebula display. It’s a 14-inch 2560 x 1600 panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of peak brightness, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space.
Alternatively, you can also opt for a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS screen with a faster 144Hz refresh rate.
Of course, the 2022 Zephyrus G14 is also packed with AMD’s latest Ryzen chips; the highest-end configuration features a Ryzen 9 6900HS processor. Interestingly, Asus is not offering the G14 with Nvidia’s range of GPUs this time around, opting instead for the new AMD Radeon RX 6800S GPU.
Rounding out the specifications of the G14 are the gaming laptop’s signature AniMe Matrix display on the lid (now with more LEDs than last year’s model), up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD, a 76Wh battery, as well as Windows 11 out of the box.
The 2022 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is only set to hit the market in the middle to late 2022, and its asking price has not been revealed yet either. Nonetheless, once it starts shipping, we reckon the new G14 will also be available in Malaysia.
